Land Rover choose Bartec Systems for bodyshell tracking

Land Rover's next generation vehicles are to be built on a multi-vehicle platform including the new Discovery. Land Rover needed a fully integrated system to match the requirements of production logistics with the different vehicle derivatives on the line. As a specialist in barcode and RF solutions Bartec Systems were asked to submit proposals using bar coding and RF tagging.

Land Rover have selected Bartec Systems in conjunction with Siemens Automation and Drives to provide barcode readers and specialist services for the project. The system using Datalogic DS6300 scanners and profibus connectivity will be installed early in 2004. The deal includes on-site support and a managed spares program throughout the life-cycle of the system.
