Pyros Environmental operates one of the UK's two High
Temperature Incineration facilities at its Fawley site, near Southampton.
The company acquired the business from Veolia in May 2007 and has committed
to a major investment in upgraded business systems, centred on operational
control and commercial management.
Bartec Systems are implementing their Waste
Controller system to create a complete 'cradle to grave' management solution for
all hazardous waste and process chemicals at the site. In a virtually
paper-free environment the company will be able to control and report on all
operations from receipt at weighbridge to detailed burn-planning, including all
compliance reporting and commercial management.
Waste Controller includes intrinsically-safe
mobile computers for operators, operating over secure wireless links for
real-time collaboration. Key business process will operate far more
quickly and allow the business to spend less time on administration and focus on
continued process improvement.
Alongside this, Pyros have also adopted 'best
in class' financial and commercial controls with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
The two systems are already proven as a full-featured Business Intelligence
solution for the waste industry (more).
