Tamworth Borough Council will be the first council in the UK to implement
Waste Collector LiveTrack!, our ground-breaking software for complete
management of waste operations.
The system combines existing technologies in vehicle tracking, mobile
computing, RFID and geographical information systems (GIS) to create a single
management system for all waste activities within an organisation. Councils
can benefit by having total visibilty of domestic waste collection activities,
participation in recycling schemes, collection and disposal of WEEE and other
bulky items and also provide 'value-added' services such as oversize-bins,
assisted collections and time-scheduled collections.
Tamworth Borough Council are equipping all their domestic waste collection
vehicles with the system, along with mobile computers to manage WEEE and bulky
collections in the Borough. In addition, their inspections and contract
montoring staff will have mobile communications and RFID systems to drive a
greater level of operational control.
Nigel Harris, Waste Services Manager at Tamworth Borough Council
said:
“We researched the UK market for several
months and interviewed a number of vendors. It was clear that Bartec Systems
offered a uniquely powerful product – combining all the features of vehicle
tracking with a complete control system for waste operations. We are going to
manage our domestic collections, our inspection team, our WEEE operations and
our green-bin operations all in one simple system.”
Tim Hobbs, Managing Director of
Bartec Systems, said:
"We are very proud of the latest addition to our waste
management products. It’s another truly unique product in this sector and will
add another element to our continued growth as the UK’s leading waste management
software provider. We are delighted Waste Collector LiveTrack! has been
selected by Tamworth B C, even before it’s officially launched, and look forward
to a long partnership with them.”
