Bartec Systems has signed a deal with Zen Internet for provision of
internet and communications services.
Bartec Systems has committed to a substantial investment in new technology to
power the next generation of services for its customers in the waste, automotive
and industrial sectors. From a dedicated, secure facility in Manchester we
will be able to provide high-speed transaction processing to support many
thousands of concurrent users of our forthcoming vehicle-based and handheld
telematics systems.
The new facilities include four purpose-built, high-power servers, a
multi-level uninterruptible power supply system, high-end firewall and the
latest in secure remote management tools. Connectivity is via three very
high speed internet connections with support for large numbers of concurrent
connections, both from wired and mobile systems.
The facility will be fully commissioned by March 2006.
Tim Hobbs, Managing Director of
Bartec Systems, said:
"Our deal with Zen Internet, and the scale of
this investment, underlines our rapid progress and great ambition in this
exciting sector. More than ever our systems are required to work globally
in real-time and to support truly mission-critical operations. These new
facilities will put us at the very forefront of technology and allow us to
provide a range of services not yet seen in the waste management and automotive
sectors.”
